Naturopath & Women’s Health Specialist
Hi, I’m Marise. I’m a BATC-certified naturopathic practitioner and women’s & reproductive health specialist, also holding a Master’s Degree in Human Geography.
My work focuses on fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and menopause, drawing from a toolbox of natural and complementary approaches. I offer gentle, deeply supportive guidance that helps women connect with their body, mind, and natural rhythms.
From Social Transitions to Inner Transitions
My work did not begin in a treatment room.
It began in the Balkans,
in conversations about migration and minority communities.
In neighbourhoods where belonging was fragile,
and in projects focused on democratic renewal —
in places where community had to be rebuilt.
There, I learned to listen.
To listen to what was not spoken out loud.
To what lived beneath tension.
To what happens when identity shifts.
To what needs safety before it can unfold.
I learned that transitions are rarely linear.
That change asks for patience.
And that life — in all its vulnerability — is precious.
Years later, when my work moved into women’s health,
I recognised the same movement.
A woman with a desire to conceive also stands at a threshold.
A pregnant woman moves between identities.
A mother in postpartum rebuilds her ground.
Menopause calls for redefinition — an inner migration.
Different context.
Same essence.
Women’s health is not only biological.
It is relational. Systemic. Energetic.
It touches belonging, identity, and softness in the body.
My work did not arise from urgency.
It arose from observation.
I believe the female body carries a rhythm that deserves respect.
That preparation is not a checklist.
That birth is not a technique.
That recovery is not secondary.
That hormonal transition is not decline, but recalibration.
That is why I work with programmes that leave space:
to slow down,
to regulate,
to feel,
to practice,
to reconnect with aliveness.
I guide women through their spring, summer, autumn, and winter —
with gentleness, clarity, and depth.
Not to fix.
But to create the conditions in which something can grow.
🍃 Life Moves Like the Seasons
My work flows with women’s life phases:
🌱 Spring – Preconception
☀️ Summer – Pregnancy & Birth
🍂 Autumn – Postpartum & Hormonal Balance
❄️ Winter – Perimenopause & Menopause
Each season asks for something different, yet the foundation is always:
Time. Depth. Integration. Aliveness.
My Approach & Toolbox
Since 2015, I have been a BATC-certified complementary therapist. After the birth of my daughter in 2019, my focus on women’s health, fertility, and birth deepened.
I combine methodologies such as:
- Reflexology
- Moxa & acupressure
- Ayurveda
- Breathing & relaxation techniques
- Hypnobirthing & birth guidance
More important than the techniques is how they come together—my work is not a collection of methods, but an integrated, holistic approach.
Health as a Cyclical Process
I believe the female body is not a project to be fixed. It is a rhythm, a wave, an intelligent system that asks for attention, rest, and trust.
In my practice, I work cyclically and integrally, not just symptom-focused. True change happens when body and mind are allowed to integrate—and integration takes time.
Taking Time as a Foundation
What distinguishes my guidance is not just what I offer, but how I work.
I believe:
- Preparation for pregnancy is not a sprint.
- Birth preparation is not a weekend course.
- Recovery is not secondary.
That’s why I create programs that allow space to:
- Deepen
- Practice
- Repeat
- Let things settle
- Integrate into daily life
Examples from my international programs include:
- A Soft Start – a preconception path focused on slowing down, body awareness, and relational attunement
- The Integrated Birth Path – a birth preparation program that combines emotional, physical, and relational readiness
Both are built on the same belief: transformation comes not from knowledge alone, but through embodied experience over time.
Professional Standards & Collaboration
I hold HBO-level medical knowledge, regularly attend recognized complementary courses, participate in peer review, and keep up with current professional literature. My treatments are eligible for reimbursement under Dutch health insurance for alternative medicine. I am affiliated with BATC and Koepel NAP.
I also collaborate with conventional healthcare providers—including midwives, GPs, mental health professionals, and neighborhood teams—through Complementaire Zorg Utrecht, a network of experienced complementary therapists.
Vision
I believe that when a woman feels held in her season, her entire environment moves with her.
Beyond individual care, I hold a vision for sustainability: a society that respects cycles, values embodied wisdom, and nurtures balance in human and environmental relationships. I believe a world shaped by cyclical awareness is more equitable, sustainable, and resilient.
Feel If This Resonates
If this approach calls to you, I invite you to connect. Not to decide immediately, but to feel:
Which season now asks your attention?
🌊 You are welcome.
